We started in 1998 cooking for one school in our neighbourhood. Today we are 39 schools, 3,500 meals a day and over 1.5 million dishes delivered. And we are still the same family business we started.

Our story in five moments.
1998
Born in Sabadell
We start cooking for a single neighbourhood school. A small kitchen, two cooks and a second-hand van. The idea: cook every day like at home, no preservatives.
2005
Our own central kitchen
We open the first central kitchen in Sabadell with full HACCP/APPCC certification. We jump from 200 daily meals to 800.
2014
Expanding to Vallès and Barcelonès
We start serving businesses and industrial parks. We launch GUMEN Empreses with a daily menu for employees. We hit 1,500 meals per day.
2021
Brand and fleet refresh
We refresh the visual identity, publish a new brand manual and roll out a new delivery fleet. We launch the digital ordering portals for schools, businesses and lunch tickets.
2026
Consolidated family business
+39 schools · +3,500 meals every day · over 1.5 million dishes delivered. Still the same family business from Sabadell.
We cook in one single kitchen.
In Sabadell.
The Carrer de Tamarit central kitchen is the heart of Gumen. It has been running since 6 a.m. every single day. Every dish that reaches a school or office has come through here — no exceptions.
That concentration lets us guarantee full traceability, allergen control, HACCP temperature logs and the quality families expect. No satellite kitchens, no decentralisation.

Cooks and assistants
Kitchen team with vocational training and hygiene auxiliaries. Everyone holds an up-to-date HACCP certification.
Drivers and logistics
Own fleet with cold-chain control. Deliveries land before each school's first lunch shift and before 14:00 at offices.
Lunch supervisors
A team of hospitality-trained supervisors specialised in working with children. They sit with pupils throughout the meal at our client schools.
What it takes to cook safely for 3,500 people every day.
HACCP plan reviewed annually
Audited by ASPCAT (Catalan Public Health) with zero major non-conformities in the last 5 years. Every CCP has its daily log.
Full lot-level traceability
Each ingredient lot (supplier, date, temperature) is traceable from the goods-in dock all the way to the served plate.
EU 1169/2011 allergen management
11 systematised special diets. Every dish carries an allergen matrix. Segregated kitchen for gluten-free.
Quality department and dietitian
Every menu is signed off against Spanish Royal Decree 315/2025 and Generalitat de Catalunya nutrition guidelines for school-age children.

Local sourcing
Suppliers from nearby
Vegetables, fruit and quality meats come from the Vallès and Maresme. We cut food miles and support local farming.
Additive-free
We cook the old way
No MSG, no colourants, no industrial preservatives. If grandmother wouldn't use it, we don't either.
100% recyclable
Compostable packaging
Kraft boxes, grease-proof paper, biodegradable labels. We collect every empty pack at the schools.

Everyone deserves a meal
At schools, 11 special diets available with no surcharge. Halal, vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free — equal right to eat well.
